Purpose
At Rugged Ranch in Topanga Canyon, a herd of rescued wild mustangs lives with room to roam, graze, move, and remain in relationship with one another. These horses were born wild and given a second chance to live as close to natural conditions as possible.
Wild horses are not interested in performance, achievement, or who we think we should be. They respond to what is present and real.
The experiences I offer are an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with the natural world, and spend time with remarkable animals whose presence has a way of staying with people long after they leave.
There is a wildness still living inside you.
I help guide you back to it so you can stop performing and start leading your life from authenticity.
This work is possible through relationship with wild mustangs. Wild horses born free, rounded up by the BLM, held in government pens, and auctioned off. At Rugged Ranch, our rescued wild horses roam free without stalls, with room to graze, move, and stay in community as a herd, close to natural habitat. I train them the long way, through time, trust, and earned connection, without breaking their spirit.
I've learned that what it takes to reach the spirit of a wild horse is the same thing that reaches the wildness inside a human being.
